Looking Back and Forward: Supercrown Pool Billiard Series

Dear billiard enthusiasts,

What exciting two years it's been! In 2023, we, three pool billiard enthusiasts, decided to give something back to the billiard community in Lower Austria. Vienna has always had great tournament series, but in the Baden area, there simply wasn't a chance to compete with others and win something besides fame and honor.

No sooner said than done! The Supercrown Pool Billiard Series was born. With 10 tournaments and a final Masters, spread across two locations (the BSV Baden and the Billardfreunde Baden), we started the first season with great enthusiasm. The very first tournament, with almost 30 participants, was a complete success, and the excitement was huge! Throughout the year, the number of participants settled at around 20 players per tournament, and we were able to welcome over 60 different billiard enthusiasts to our ranks. In 2024, we wanted to take it a step further and bring another Lower Austrian club, the KSC Gerasdorf, on board as a venue. Unfortunately, it turned out that Tuesday as a match day at this location was not ideal. Admittedly, playing billiards until late at night during the week, relatively far outside of Vienna, has something special - but in the long run, it's a challenge with a regular job. 😉

Nevertheless, in the second year, we were once again pleased to have an average of 15-20 participants per tournament, and we even managed to win the renowned sponsor Cuetec for us! Cuetec provided our Masters with plenty of hardware, so that in addition to the almost 450 EUR prize money, we were also able to award prizes worth almost 2000 EUR to the 16 qualified finalists. For 2025, due to time constraints, we decided to hold the series at only one location, at the Billardfreunde in Baden. We also reduced the number of tournaments to 6 and increased the prize money. With Pocketed, we were able to win another sponsor who increased the Masters prize money by 150 EUR. And Supseven, as in the first year, generously sponsored 150 EUR for an exciting shoot-out.
